What is your passion?
Feb. 28, 2017 | Samuel Wang, BCS'14, returned to Moulton Hill this morning and spoke in Chapel about his swimming career and finding his calling.
Sam, who has been pursuing his dream of swimming for the past 14 years, encouraged students to find something they're passionate about and hold on to it. It is that passion and determination that Sam credits with helping him accomplish such feats as competing at Olympic and Pan Am trials in recent years. Sam continues to get up early and train over 20 hours a week, sometimes twice a day, while majoring in biochemistry at McGill University. True to form, the freshman struck gold in November when he swam the 50 metre butterfly in 23.85 seconds to break his own McGill record (24.40), as well as that of the RSEQ (23.95) at the Quebec Cup II. He collected a second gold for the 100 metre butterfly at the same event.
Good luck as you continue to pursue your passion, Sam!
