There is more in you than you think
Apr. 30, 2018 | Form VI student Donovan shared his Outward Bound experience with us in Chapel this morning.
Donovan spent 21 days in Clayoquot Sound, on Vancouver Island this past August, participating in a West Coast Discovery trip. Over the three weeks, Donovan and a group of 11 other students from all over the world learned self-reliance, empathy, and team work while living in a challenging natural environment. Highlights from his trip that he shared included surfing and kayaking in Tofino, camping on the beach near a howling wolf, and taking a long soak in the sulphuric natural spring waters of Hot Springs Cove.
Established and funded by Bart MacDougall, BCS’54, in 2005, our Outward Bound Canada Award is awarded to a student in Form V who most exemplifies “self-reliance, care, and respect for others, service to the community, and concern for the environment.”
