Tackling relevant topics

May 3, 2018 | Yesterday evening, four of our students attended the 26th Annual Canadian Federation of University Women’s Public Speaking Contest.

Priscilla, Aidan, Kelly, and Cala travelled to the Amédée Beaudoin Centre in Lennoxville accompanied by members of the English Department, where they delivered impressive performances. In the Junior Category, Aidan placed first for his speech “Is Social Media Worth It?,” and Priscilla’s take on the topic with her speech “Unsocial Media” was both thoughtful and thought provoking. In the Senior Category, Cala won first place for her speech “Beauty Is Not Beautiful” while Kelly also received an Honourable Mention for her speech “History Should Be In Our Future”.

Congratulations to all the participants!
