Staff got served
June 14, 2018 | For the second year, teachers faced off against students in an epic volleyball tournament to fend off exam stress.
Not to be deterred by foreboding clouds and a 70% chance of rain in the forecast, students and teachers took to the courts behind Gillard House. Myriam has been organizing volleyball games between her fellow students over the past two weeks and this afternoon the winning team took on the teachers. The teacher team, who proudly dubbed themselves 'The Pension Planners,' rose to the challenge of taking on the top students. It wasn’t pretty. Despite scoring many points and pulling off some impressive saves, the teachers didn’t win a single set. “It hurts a little,” said Mme Desroches after the tournament, though it wasn’t clear whether she was referring to her wrists or her pride.
To make sure the success is sufficiently celebrated, the trophy—a volleyball with the winner inscribed on it—will be displayed in the prefect room for the next year. Hopefully next year it will make its way to the staff room!
