Bring Your Difference

September 24, 2018 | Some new faces joined us in Chapel this morning.

In preparation for the 2018 Round Square International Conference (RSIC) at Ashbury College in Ottawa, BCS is hosting a pre-conference cultural tour. This morning in Chapel we welcomed students from St. George’s Grammar School and Bridge House School in South Africa, Ivanhoe Grammar School in Australia, and Schule Birklehof in Germany. This week the student delegates from each of these schools will be deeply immersed in Canadian culture as they tour uniquely Canadian traditions and sites.

After Chapel this morning, the students embarked on their first stop on the tour: a 5km walk up Mount Orford. This evening students will take part in a Mi’kmaq Powwow on BCS campus featuring a drum performance, dancing in full regalia, and delicious salmon méchoui cooked in a hollowed pine tree prepared by our very own BCS parent Quentin Condo.
