Beaming with pride
October 23, 2018 | The BCS Pride Alliance is back!
After a two-year hiatus, the BCS Pride Alliance met for the first time over lunch today. With a new school calendar introduced this year that merges Junior and Senior lunch breaks, the group is now able to hold regular meetings once again. Established in 2013, the Alliance works to raise the collective BCS consciousness about issues surrounding gender equality, identity and expression, sexual orientation, relationships, and more. This year, the team hopes to coordinate guest speakers in chapel, make presentations, fundraise, and organize events for Pride Month in June. Most of the specifics have yet to be ironed out, but the students’ enthusiasm today is a sure sign that we’re in for a pride-filled year!
Interested in getting involved? The BCS Pride Alliance is open to students, faculty, and staff! Join them in Mr. Kelso’s classroom next Tuesday at lunch hour!
