All the bells and whistles

Dec. 12, 2018 | Our music classes today were joined by professional whistler Tanguay Desgagné.
Mr. Obermeir is always looking to push his students' musical horizons and today's guest lecturer did just that. Mr. Desgagné has been whistling since the age of two and now has a career in music working as both a performer with other bands and as a voice artist dubbing for TV shows. "One of the most difficult parts of being a professional whistler is building and maintaining lung capacity," explained Mr. Desgagné, who has workout plans specifically designed to strengthen his lungs. The class discussed how the skills required for whistling compare to those used for other instruments and vocalization techniques. Following his performances, he invited students to join in to practise their own whistling abilities.

Thanks for sharing your talents with us, Mr. Desgagné!
