Puppets on parade

Jan. 23, 2019 | Form IV Art and Drama classes spent their day writing and performing theatre with marionettes.

The group began the workshop with a guided brainstorming session to generate ideas for characters, settings, and stories. Students then split into groups to build their puppets and practise bringing them to life. "One of the challenges in puppetry is expressing emotion," explained our Drama Teacher, Ms. McGie. "The students had to figure out how to express their character's feelings entirely through body language."

This is the fourth year that BCS students have attended the workshop. In the future, Ms. McGie hopes to incorporate marionettes into a BCS Players' Club production.
