The pizza de résistance

May 10, 2019 | Yesterday's pizza dinner marked our students' last visit of the year to Grace Village.

Our 'Grace Village People' wrapped up a year of visits to one of our local retirement homes in delicious fashion. Now in their second year, the group of students has been visiting the seniors on a monthly basis to engage with residents through a plethora of activities. From bowling to board games, the enthusiastic group has been growing in numbers at every visit. "This year has been a huge success," commented Mrs. Carey, who started the program last year through the non-profit organization Sweet Readers. "I hope it continues to grow even more next fall." In addition to making pizza for the residents, last night's visit had our students pitted against the seniors for a multi-generational trivia game where both teams had to identify objects and pop-culture icons from today and decades past.

A memorable evening for all! Curious about their other visits? Take a look at our Photo of the Day from one of their visits last October.
