Rap it up

May 27, 2019 | Some student speech-makers vying for a boat trip stole the stage this morning.
Back in April, Mr. Nadeau stood in front of chapel dressed like this and presented one of his iconic rousing speeches. Somehow weaving together the Montreal Canadiens, environmentalism, and the Notre-Dame de Paris fire, Mr. Nadeau's main message was to invite students to step out of their comfort zones and speak in chapel before the end of the year. The students with the best speech would win a boating excursion on Lake Memphremagog with Mr. Nadeau and a few faculty members to celebrate the arrival of summer. This morning in chapel, five students took up the challenge and presented a trifecta of BCS-themed rap covers. Donning their purplest outfits, Chella, Sophie, Fausta, Emma, and Tyrin began their performance with some strong rhymes ("Boat. Motorboat. Mr. Nadeau is the GOAT."), proceeding to drop another six minutes of lyrical craftsmanship. Missed the performance? You can relive the speech on Sophie's YouTube page.

Students interested in a nautical excursion with their friends only have a few more weeks to make a chapel presentation, so get writing!
