Studying stagecraft

May 30, 2019 | Sébastien, Timothy, and Sophie recently published a blog about their theatrical experiences this year.

Wrapping up a year of attending and writing about plays, three students in IB French Language and Literature have now shared their work with the world. Their blog, which can be read here, dives into the staging, characterization, and theatrical rhetoric found in the performances they attended in 2018-19. Sophie found the blog to be an interesting change of pace from the standard academic essay, explaining that it was "freeing to be able to make jokes and write in a less formal tone." Timothy echoed her thoughts, adding that he enjoyed "writing for ourselves and not for our teachers." This is the second year that students have used this medium to share their thoughts on local theatrical performances.

Congratulations to these three thespian thinkers!
