Here comes the sun
Jun. 10, 2019 | Our last weekend of Student Life activities was a blast!
With Saturday's graduation quickly approaching, our Student Life team gave students plenty of opportunities to blow off some steam before their last week of exams. The weekend started off with our last social of the year on Friday evening, hosted by our incoming prefect-hopefuls. Saturday morning started off bright and early with Mini World Cup, a longstanding athletic tradition hosted by our equally longstanding soccer official, Mr. Maxwell. Teams representing Mexico, Germany, Canada, 'Mediterranea,' USA, Asia, Europe, and China went head to head on fields around campus, though the true competition was for the most enthusiastic supporters. Students got creative with their team chants and colourful outfits, and Pierre, Grace, and Luke really got into the spirit organizing a concession stand during the semi-finals with funds going to charity. When all was said and done, Mediterranea claimed the win on the field and Europe won the spirit award, which merited them a well-earned pizza dinner supplied by our Advancement Department.
Saturday afternoon saw another flurry of activity around campus with a slip-and-slide, dunk tank, and water balloon fight. It feels like just yesterday that we were throwing snowballs in the Quad
and while the seasons have changed, the energy exuded by our student community is the same as ever.
The year may soon be wrapping up, but these memories will last a lifetime!
