Head for the hills

Sep. 5, 2019 | Today we perpetuated our decades-old tradition of a community-wide hike.

Bringing our incoming and returning students and parents together for an invigorating hike is an annual tradition at BCS. Taking the opportunity to not only get to know each other but also introduce students to the natural beauty of our corner of the world, the hike has taken place at Mount Orford for the past several years. This year, in a refreshing discovery for our seasoned staff and outdoorsy students alike, the hike took place at nearby Owl's Head. As it so happens, BCS and Owl's Head share a common link: the Girardin family (brothers Steve, Dave, and Tony all graduated from BCS in the early '90s).

Throughout the year, staff and students will continue to make use of the abundance of surrounding nature with our fall and winter Adventure Training creases and our Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding crease. After one last barbecue dinner this evening, parents will say their final goodbyes as classes get under way bright and early tomorrow morning.

Thanks for sharing this adventure with us, the year ahead looks bright!
