Reach for the stars

Sep. 10, 2019 | Just a few days into the academic year and our student-athletes are already out in force!

The athletic program got underway this week with our teams making the most of our green spaces. Near the volleyball courts this afternoon, Mr. Crowther, Ms. Jones, and Mr. Pfliger led the Cross Country Running team in some warmup stretches before doing some high-intensity interval training. Over on Gillard Field, our soccer teams ran drills while our Adventure Training crease trekked through the forest behind them. All of our students are gearing up for their first communal athletic event this weekend, the annual Terry Fox Run. The event is open to anyone in the community with four and eight-kilometre runs beginning from behind the H. Weir Davis Memorial Gymnasium at 10 AM. Our Yoga/Cardio team was out running the trails in preparation for the event this afternoon and the Cross Country Running team will be running the course at the end of the week.
Sunday's run will also be a fundraiser for cancer research. Read more about how you can help BCS support the initiative at
