Oct. 22, 2019 | Our chapel was full this morning as we welcomed nutritionist Dr. Patrick Owen to speak to our students about the ingredients of a healthy lifestyle.
From powerful messages about bullying to inspiring conversations about self worth and community-building, our chapel regularly receives speakers that challenge and inspire our students. Today students heard from the first speaker in this year's Residential Life Curriculum, speaking to students about nutrition, sleep, and strategies for healthier living. The morning began with a meeting with our hockey teams and student-athletes, followed by a school-wide presentation for students and staff. The topics included body types, energy sources, supplement usage, and recovery, among others. In closing his presentation, Dr. Owen made sure to emphasize that each person is unique and strategies that work well for some body types won't provide the same results for others.

Our community was left feeling inspired to eat better, sleep more, and spend a little more time outside–perfect timing as we prepare for our second annual Take Me Outside Day tomorrow.
