A uni-que experience

Nov. 5, 2019 | We welcomed two recent graduates back to campus yesterday to speak to Form VI about their university experience.

Timothy-Paul Chevalier and Bohong "Robert" Fu, both Class of 2019, returned to campus yesterday to talk with Form VI students about their university application process and experiences as freshmen at the University of Toronto. Speaking about the application process in their Form VII year, the pair shared some words of advice. "Be wary of deadlines and make sure you do everything in advance," Tim cautioned. "Start thinking about where you want to go sooner rather than later," Robert added. "Research the schools that interest you. Go on their website and check out their social media accounts." They also encouraged students to start the application process early, as it can be difficult to navigate the different university systems and it's important to prepare for any setbacks. "Nothing is going to go as expected so be prepared for that," Robert explained. They also spoke about their first three months as university students. Tim is studying Rotman Commerce while Robert is in the Theatre, Drama, and Performance program. The competitive nature of their programs has proven challenging but rewarding. "It's a tough transition but you'll get through it," Tim shared. "It's important to balance rewards with work. Time management is key!"
