Nov. 25, 2019 | H. Weir Davis Memorial Gymnasium was the place to be, as we hosted 17 teams from across Canada over three days for the CAIS Senior Boys Basketball Tournament.

A yearly event, the three-day tournament offers an opportunity for schools to come together and showcase their athletic prowess on the basketball court. This year, Ashbury was the team to beat, claiming a banner, and going home with the gold. Holy Trinity School was crowned DII champs, and Stanstead College claimed the DIII title. Despite coming out of the tournament with a 2-3-0 record, Head Coach Tyler Murphy remains optimistic about our Bears. "I believe good things are coming for our team if they stay focussed and work hard," he shared. "I can't wait to get back on the floor with this great team." The squad gets right back into the thick of things with a tournament in Cornwall, Ontario this weekend.

It takes an enormous amount of work to run a tournament of this magnitude and it would not have been possible without our athletic staff, the dining hall staff, and the countless volunteers who gave of their time to ensure the event ran so smoothly. In all, over 30 students and faculty/staff members worked tirelessly on timing, scoring, clean-up, and ensuring our guests felt at home while on Moulton Hill. A HUGE thank you to every single one of you for making the weekend such a resounding success.
