Lunch time crunch time

Dec. 3, 2019 | Our prefects held their weekly meeting in Mr. Tessier's office over lunch.
Our 10 prefects are some of the most important voices on campus and their weekly meetings with the Associate Head of School for Student Life are where the rubber hits the road. While the discussions sometimes bring in faculty and staff from departments across campus, the main goal is to bring students' ideas and concerns to the forefront of campus conversations and plan activities to promote community. With a packed agenda today, the prefects diligently kept their attention on the discussions at hand. During today's meeting, the group focussed on inclusivity surrounding holiday celebrations and discussed plans for their secret upcoming holiday-themed activities. Highlighting the impact of the decisions made at these meetings, Mr. Tessier noted that when students bring issues or ideas to his attention, it becomes his top priority. After the meeting, Violetta shared about her experience being a prefect. "Being in a decision-making role is a lot harder than it seems," she expressed, not deterred by the added workload brought on by her responsibilities as a prefect. "I didn't expect the variety of perspectives that need to be taken into account, even for smaller things."

We can't wait to share all the exciting festivities they have in store for the coming weeks!
