Dec. 6, 2019 | Our Grace Village visitors made their final excursion of the year.
Just after fourth period yesterday, our young socialites travelled to Huntingville to visit with some older and wiser socialites. Formerly known as the Grace Village People (a name that has been recently retired to avoid copyright infringement), the group makes regular visits to the local retirement home to visit with residents. The trips are an opportunity to engage in the broader community and strengthen intergenerational friendships. "We all have our favourite residents," shared Zuzanna after yesterday's visit. "I just wish we had more time to visit with them!" The trips have become so popular this year that Mrs. Carey has had to turn students down due to limited transportation available.
The visits always entertain young and old with a variety of activities including board games and making pizzas with the residents. Seated in one of the activity rooms at the residence, yesterday's group sang Christmas carols, taking requests from students and residents once their playlist had run out. After sharing refreshments and catching each other up on the latest happenings at BCS and Grace Village, the students said their goodbyes and returned to campus.
