Winners never quidditch
Feb. 3, 2020 | Today marks the second day of Carnivallarmus and our house spirit is loud enough to make Moaning Myrtle jealous!
Although our morning got off to a quiet start with a sleep-in and late brunch, the energy quickly built as students assembled in front of School House for our age-old inter-house competitions. Keeping with the Harry Potter theme, a relay race was organized on the field that had students racing on brooms between each station as they completed a myriad of challenges. A tug of war competition brought the intensity up yet again as small groups competed in a round-robin tournament. Each house proudly wore their colours and got creative in their expression of carnival spirit, with some bringing instruments, flags, or canine companions to rally team support. After a lunch consisting of student-requested dishes (poutine, hot dogs, and butterbeer), students enjoyed an afternoon of sports including a chaotic and incredibly popular muggle reimagination of quidditch. Of course, we carried on the Carnival-staple ice dancing competition which drew crowds of cheering spectators to our frigid Memorial Arena. But the fun doesn't end there! After supper, we will be holding a lip sync battle in the Student Centre followed by the 'Crystal Ball' as we finish the evening on the dance floor.
