Inside jobs

Mar. 6, 2020 | Our Form V and VI students got a glimpse at some of their future occupations at our 2nd Annual Career Day.
Our students were future-focussed today, building off last year's reintroduction of Career Day at BCS. The day began in chapel as Maxime Descôteaux, BCS'98, shared career insights with our community during morning assembly before attending Form VI Physics and Chemistry classes to discuss his research with our students. During third and fourth periods, eight alumni and friends of the school met with students to discuss their careers and answer students' questions about specific industries. Jerome Cloutier, BCS’90, Nicolas Charlton, BCS’11, and Sébastien Bernier, BCS’12, represented the world of finance, Nicholas Scheib, BCS'91, discussed the intricacies of law, Julien Bernatchez, BCS’08, joined Mr. Descôteaux to share about the worlds of medical and life sciences, and Marie-Geneviève Pilon, BCS’93, and John Aylen presented about the self-starting attitudes of entrepreneurship. Beyond today's scheduled presentations, the past few days have also seen video conference calls with alumni to talk about their education in tech-related fields, including Jonathan Crowther, BCS'14, David Laliberté, BCS'14, and Rebecca Leblond, BCS'16. We're grateful to have such an involved community of alumni willing to invest their time in helping our students prepare for their careers!
