Internationalism at BCS
June 2, 2015 | With the end of the school year coming soon, many groups are taking the time to recognize participants and supporters for their dedication.
Round Square Coordinator Mrs. Bray handed out ties and pins for all those student who participated in one or more areas of Round Square
. Round Square is an international organization with over one hundred schools worldwide who share common values and come together during conferences, service projects (work projects), exchanges and gap years (post-secondary year abroad). This year Emma, Form IV, went on exchange to Australia. We had two students go on service projects: Maria, Form VII (Peru) and Dana, Form VII (South Africa). We also participated in the Junior Round Square conference in British Colombia and we were represented by Jessie, Form III and Violetta, Form II. This year’s Senior Round Square conference was attended by Patrick, Form VI, Cassiopée, Form VI and Rebecca, Form VI in Bogotá, Colombia. Overall, we have 25 students who regularly participate in the weekly meetings for this year. An exciting year for Round Square and more activities are coming up: Round Square Walk and the upcoming Food Bazaar June 5. It’s an area of the school that continues to grow!
