Rugby, a contact team sport, has been a strength at BCS for many years. Our school offers a Junior team and a Senior team every year. At the junior level, players learn the basics of the game and how to avoid injury. The Junior Rugby teams (girls and boys) practice 4-5 times a week and play 4-5 games during the session. As players move to the senior league, the level of competition increases, which develops game strategy, technique and skills.

The Boys’ and Girls’ Senior Rugby teams compete within the ETIAC, playing 4-6 league games, followed by playoffs. Both teams also compete in a nation-wide CAIS Tournament, held each year at a different CAIS school in Canada. Our Senior Girls’ Rugby Team has won this tournament for the past three years! Senior teams often have the chance to go on tour in the spring, and over the past several years ours have competed in Argentina, Las Vegas, New York, Washington DC, Spain and France.
