Sep-Oct 2018-19 Athletes of the Month

BCS Athletics News
Director of Athletics Mr. Jeff Bray announced the September-October Athletes of the Month last week during a special Athletic Awards Assembly in chapel.
Every month, the Athletics Department recognizes four athletes for their outstanding contribution. These athletes, one boy and one girl from both competitive and non-competing teams, are selected based on effort, enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and performance.

We are pleased to announce the Athletes of the Month for September-October 2018:

Non-Competitive Teams

Violetta Z.F.
Touch Football
Violetta has had an excellent fall term, particularly in the month of October. Despite the cold weather she always kept her enthusiasm and played hard. She was the best player on the junior team. She really improved her touch football skills throughout the year.

Alfred F.
Adventure Training
Alfred has been nominated by his coaches for excellent participation, attitude, and help to others during the Adventure Training trip to Mont Mégantic, as well as for putting in the extra time to help clean the Adventure Training room.

Competitive Teams

Bénédicte F.
Senior Girls Soccer
Bénédicte established herself as a quiet leader on the field right from the very first game. She continued to work hard in practices and was a fierce competitor who played through pain and never gave up on a ball at any time. Her impressive defensive skills and constant hard work served her team well, as she helped stop the opposing attackers and kept our goal area clear, thus reducing the number of goal-scoring opportunities. She did this game in and game out. Not one to look for any accolades, she just went about her business and was an excellent role model for the team.

Alejandro G. J.
Junior Boys Soccer
Alejandro has been a fine captain for the Junior Boys Soccer team. He brings the same concentration and commitment to both practices and games. His fine technique, selfless running, and encouragement of his teammates have been an important part of the teams progress. He is able to discuss strategy in a mature and responsible way, and his contribution to the team has been of great value.

Congratulations to our Athletes of the Month for September-October!
