BCS offers hockey programs ranging from beginner to elite. Players obtain a rich life experience that combines academic excellence with competitive athletics, all in a stimulating multicultural environment. The hockey program features five to six hockey related activities per week. At present, we offer a Varsity Team, Prep Team, Thirds Team, and an Intramural program.
For the 2015-16 season the Varsity and Prep teams will each play more than 40 games with a schedule ranging from tournaments to showcases throughout Canada and United States. The intense and competitive schedule will allow the teams to compete against a variety of prep schools. They will also have the opportunity to play in front of NCAA, CIS, and Junior scouts from across North America. This will give our players the exposure necessary to help them reach their goals.
The Thirds team has a competitive local schedule of games and three to four practices per week. Finally, our Intramural program incorporates many students who have never played hockey before but would like to try! These students practice skills weekly and also play inter-squad games.
The hockey program emphasizes the development of a well-rounded player through highly qualified and experienced coaching. As well, specialized off-ice hockey training programs are part of the program. Memorial Arena, one of the oldest covered arenas in Canada, is located on campus and BCS provides students the opportunity to skate even during lunch hour. At BCS, students are able to fulfill their passion for hockey while maximizing their academic potential.
