Basketball is offered to both girls and boys during the winter term. There are 3 levels at which the teams compete: Bantam, Junior and Senior. At the lower level, basic skills are introduced to the players. As players progress, so do the basketball skills and strategies.
Teams will practice 3-5 times a week, with one game per week. Teams play an average of 15 games per season against members of the ETIAC or RSEQ. Each BCS team participates in at least one weekend tournament throughout the session. At the senior level only, our boys' and girls' teams compete in a National tournament, through our partnership with CAIS (Canadian Association of Independent Schools). This tournament is hosted at schools across the country and is often a memorable road trip experience for our students!
Our Sr. Boys' Basketball coach, Mr. Pfliger, also offers a supplemental weekend training for basketball skill development called "Hoops Group." This program is open to all abilities and ages, and is a fantastic way to polish one's game skills.
This sport is offered in the Winter Season, from November to February.
