BCS tennis players are fortunate to have top-notch courts right on campus for training and competition. In the early spring, players begin their training indoors in the gym and in the weight room to work on basic strength and movement drills. Once they hit the courts, they apply the skills they’ve learned to real match situations.
Tennis training involves practicing basic tennis skills, such as serving, forehand and backhand. For tennis players to perform at their best, they must strike the right balance of aerobic endurance, explosive strength, power, speed and agility. These skills are developed both on and off the court.
The tennis team plays 5 matches and 1 tournament against members of the ETIAC league in the spring term.
This sport is offered in the Spring Season, from March to June.
